About Me
Kevin Jones
http://safetyatworkblog.com/ As Manager of Workplace Safety Services P/L, I have established a reputation as a perceptive writer on workplace safety issues over 20 years. As a practicing occupational health and safety adviser I am often called on to ghostwrite or develop safety related communications. LexisNexis in the United States named my SafetyAtWorkBlog one of the top 25 international workplace blogs for 2011, 2013 & 2014, and SmartCompany listed SafetyAtWorkBlog as one of Australia’s top 25 business blogs. Coming off six years of full-time employment in the rail infrastructure sector, I have undertaken technical writing for the Centre for Construction Work Health and Safety Research at RMIT University and Ernst Young. Prior to this I contributed to many publications, including the Journal of Occupational Health and Safety Australia and New Zealand, WorkSafe Victoria publications "Manual Handling in the Food Industry and Dairy Safety – A Practical Guide", LexisNexis Australia’s Employment Law Bulletin, Business Spectator and Crikey.com. My ongoing work for RMIT resulted in a co-authorship of one recent research paper called: “Engaging stakeholders in improving the quality of OSH decision-making in construction projects”. There is also resulted in an increased call for me to speak at safety events, seminars and conferences in Australia, overseas and online, as well as podcasts and broadcast radio. In 2018 I have spoken at Australian conferences on "Business Bullshit", the "Democratisation of Safety" and the "OHS Context of sleep", capping off with a keynote presentation at the HWSA WHS Inspectors Forum in Tasmania.
